Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator
The Town of Rome is seeking a full-time Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator to assist with all-seasons of public works maintenance. Maintenance items will include, but are not limited to: road construction & maintenance, upkeep and preventive equipment care, snow plowing & removal, shoveling, salting, Town owned facilities building & grounds maintenance, plus mowing, brushing, and tree cutting.
The Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator must be physically able to perform the job duties: walking and/or climbing on uneven terrain, working outside, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally and hold a valid driver’s license. The Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator must hold a minimum of a Class B CDL and either have a Class A CDL or be able to achieve it within six months of hire. Candidates must be willing to work overtime, especially during snow plowing season and as otherwise required. Self-motivated candidates with past work experience demonstrating problem solving skills in a heavy equipment and/or construction operation is a plus.
Winter position hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM, and summer hours are Monday through Thursday, 6 AM to 4 PM; rate of pay is $26.93.

Transfer Site Part-time Attendant
The Town of Rome is seeking individuals to work at the Transfer Site as Attendants. Personnel at the site are required to work both weekdays and weekends on rotation and must be at least 18 years of age. The rate of pay for this position is $13.94 an hour.
The attendant position is responsible for opening and closing the Transfer Site. Monitoring users to ensure they are Town of Rome residents or permitted contractors, and making sure residents/contractors correctly place trash and recyclables in the proper containers. Attendants must monitor loads of materials being brought into the site to prevent prohibited items.
Attendants must be physically able to perform the job duties: walking and/or climbing on uneven terrain, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally and hold a valid driver’s license.

Dyracuse Recreational Area Attendant Position Description
The Town of Rome is seeking individuals to work at Dyracuse Recreational Area as Attendants on a part-time basis from May through the end of October. Personnel are required to work both weekdays and weekends on rotation and must be at least 18 years of age. The rate of pay for this position is $13.53 an hour.
Attendants must be able to work with figures and handle money, communicate effectively with the public, provide excellent customer service, handle emergency situations, and maintain control of park use by enforcing the rules set forth.
Attendants must be physically able to perform the job duties; walking and/or climbing on uneven terrain, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Attendants must hold a valid drivers license.
