The Town of Rome has the following positions open:



The Town of Rome is currently seeking a Director of Public Works.  The purpose of this position is to plan, direct, manage, coordinate, and administrate all public works related departments within the Town of Rome.  This department consists of four separate functions, public works/streets, parks, solid waste, and buildings and grounds for all Town owned facilities, including two cemeteries. 

A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.  Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Public Works Director will be considered.  A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of five years of broad and extensive experience in civil engineering, project and/or construction management, surveying, or public works related operations, including at least five years in a responsible management capacity. 

Knowledge of road construction and maintenance, equipment, tools, supplies, plumbing methods, bidding practices and procedures, and ability to perform minor engineering tasks, including reading grades, electrical diagrams, and blueprint is beneficial.  Must be able to pass a background check, have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and valid Wisconsin class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or the ability to obtain a CDL within six-months of starting employment.

The Town of Rome Fire Department always has an open application process and is looking for Volunteer Firefighters, you can complete the application and the addendum and turn them into the Fire Department or bring them to the Town hall.
