Department Services

The Public Works & Highway Department maintains 151 miles of scenic roads in the Town of Rome.  The Highway Department fulfills its responsibilities to maintain the safety and convenience of Town roads by performing both general and winter maintenance.

General maintenance includes the following:  patching, shoulder maintenance, vegetation control, signing, and traffic control.  Winter maintenance includes the application of sand and salt, plowing and shoveling snow.

Additionally, the department also oversees the Transfer Site, all Town parks, Dyracuse Recreational Area, Spring Branch and New Rome Cemeteries and the Rome Town Center.

Advertisement for Bids and Request for Proposals (RFP) Materials:

The Town of Rome, Adams County, Wisconsin will accept sealed bids until 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, to perform hot mix asphaltic pavement patches on various roads in the Town of Rome. Bids will be opened at 12:15 pm that same day.

Sealed bids should be submitted to: Brad Martinson, Director of Public Works, 1156 Alpine Drive, Nekoosa, WI 54457.

The envelope in which the bid is sealed shall bear the name and address of the bidder and the notation “Pavement Patching Bids.”  Specifications of the work to be performed are available here.

Call 715-325-8017 with any questions. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to accept the proposal most advantageous to the Town, even if that proposal is not the lowest in cost.

The Town of Rome is accepting Request for Bids (RFB) to provide a Sprinkler System for the Rome Town Center Park to service approximately 1.2 acres of lawn. The specifications for the sprinkler system can be found here. The deadline to submit a sealed RFB is July 9, 2020; 12:00 PM CST. RFB materials are to be submitted to Jami Gebert, Administrator, 1156 Alpine Drive, Nekoosa, WI 54457. Questions concerning the RFB should be referred to Jami Gebert at 715-325-8025. Bids will be opened at 2:00 PM on July 9, 2020.
